Buy Baby Crib Bedding
The crib bedding is very important since the baby will be spending a lot of time in the crib; you have to make sure that he is safe and comfortable at all times. Today, there are different types of baby crib bedding made from different materials.
Because of the wide range of choices, choosing a crib bedding can sometimes be tedious especially for first time parents wanting to give only the best to their child. To make things easier, here is a short list on what parents should look for in various baby crib bedding.
The size. The size of the bedding must fit the size of the crib. Since most cribs follow a standard in size, a lot of crib beddings are made to fit this standard so it shouldn’t be too much of an issue. Just the same, you should make sure that the bedding is snug in the crib. One way to determine if the bedding fits perfectly is to see if you can fit two fingers in the gap between the edge of the bedding and the side of the crib. If you can, then the bedding is too small; if you can’t then it’s perfect.
Firm or soft? You have to go with firm bedding. Using soft bedding can be dangerous for the baby. The fabric might get caught in the baby’s face, particularly the nose and mouth. Since babies can’t remove the fabric out of their face, they might breathe in the same air they exhaled. This causes them to take in more carbon dioxide than oxygen that could ultimately lead to death.
Use cotton. Aside from safety, comfort is also a big issue. Use beddings made from organic fabric like cotton. Cotton is soft enough that your baby’s skin won’t feel any discomfort. Unlike most synthetic fabric, cotton allows the baby crib bedding to “breathe” which keeps the baby cool when sleeping. Cleaning cotton is also easy because you can just pop it in the washing machine.
